What Does Your Donation Support?

The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories is working to change the face of dementia in Alberta and the Northwest Territories and improve the quality of life for those living with the disease. The Society offers provincial and territorial networks of educational and support services for people living with dementia and their care partners through seven regional centres and a provincial office. We build partnerships with health professionals and the community and work to advance research to find effective treatments and a cure for this devastating disease.

Currently, there are over 50,000 Albertans and Northwest Territorians living with dementia; almost 1% of the total population.  By 2043, if nothing changes, it is expected this number will increase to 225,000 Albertans; almost 3.5% of the population. There is currently no known cause or cure for Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, but there is hope for creating a better tomorrow.

The Alzheimer’s Face Off presented by Christenson Communities Ltd. focuses on raising funds to provide help for today for those living with dementia and their families and hope for tomorrow through research.
